How many of you also collect aviation art?

Hello Lads,

Along with my diecast sickness, I also collect aviation art, mostly pilot and aircrew signed. I wondered how many of you also collect aviation art?

Cheers, pieceOfCake

Re: How many of you also collect aviation art?

I don't really collect it -- but I do have a very nice Robert Bailey print (studio ed).

I only have room to hang one, so I did it right -- got it framed in a cool gunmetal frame with a matching matte... wish I did have room for more! (Dang shelves of planes are in the way!)

I collect aviation art scans to use as screensavers on my PC, and I have a small collection of aviation art books -- Taylor and Trudgian -- and plan on getting more.

No, I don't, tho that is not to say I wouldn't. Send me any of your left overs and I'll be sure to give them a good home!

Re: How many of you also collect aviation art?

Star,

NOW I KNOW where your love of Preddy & the lads from Bodney comes from

Especially like the print at the top.

But my favourite of yours, just has to be that print of Gentile's Debden/4th F.G. "Shangri-La".

I love the depth of the scene.......... & the execution of Gentile's 'Razorback' P.51-B is nothing short of outstanding.

Ain't it a pity that the legend/story of that actual '51's remains being in a lake, next to the base (nowaday's known as Carver Barracks) ain't true.

I always used to ride past the Barracks, on my Suzuki G.S.1000 (shown on my Avatar) & wish that I could be inside the wire watching it being hauled out of the lake...........

Imagine just how much that thing would be worth nowadays

I would love a print of Knights Move by Robert Taylor but sadly its out of my reach at present, but I do collect the volumes of his avation art that I can lose myself in during quiet moments.

Re: How many of you also collect aviation art?

I have three of Jody Harmon's paintings. He does the illustrations for Armor magazine. Unfortunately, the armorart.com website isn't working right now, so I'll have to get some pics of mine and post them.
