Just out of curiosity.... Valentine's day

Does anyone get airplanes from their significant other on this "holiday" -- nothing says love like a hunk of cold metal, right?

I like that Nashorn Momo. Using the heart motif for justification in buying a plane on Valentines Day, I would suggest everyone order a Hartmann 109 or two!

Re: Just out of curiosity.... Valentine's day

This is terrible Pappy B and Black 6,

so no one else got a prop or track for Valentine's day!

Romance has departed from the souls of the Hangerkind's better halves!

So if you didn't get Hartman 109, as Black 6 suggested, what did you get?

a one-sided fight? a cute e-mail? a 'Help I forgot? a 'Please forgive me! ? a 'You don't love me anymore!' ? an angry face? a ' I forgot to bring it home! ? a slow burn! ? a stupid look ? more tears ? a patronising pat ? a full-frontal Drama Queen ? a night to remember ? a kick in the Goolies ? a jolly time ?

Re: Just out of curiosity.... Valentine's day

Well, I didn't get a plane for Valentine's Day, shook the box, no rattling, not heavy enough. Taking a bite of my Lindor heart-shaped chocolate, (pre-gift gift), opened the decorative red wrapping, to unveil a very nice McFarlane Toys Ryan Smyth (Edmonton Oilers) and Miikka Kiprusoff (Calgary Flames) - best goaltender in the world by the way, boxed set. It'll go nice next to my autographed Jarome Iginla cards, under my Calgary Flames photo. More swag for the new bar area.

I can't complain as I wasn't expecting a thing. My wife's the best.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!!!!

MoMo, there's nothing more to say. Your sentiment is clearly from the depth of your swinging brick. (HEART) All of us old country guys have been seduced by Shakesperean prose and it will forever be the bane of the eternal romantic .

Re: Just out of curiosity.... Valentine's day

A happy mixture, Schrage Musik, it's good to get more toys!

Well Swoop, let's face it. Every Hanger member must be a romantic at heart. All those little pieces of metal and plastic have to be imbued with life by summoning up the vestige of boyhood and the power of imagination.

" Thus is our romantique disposition made tangible to the body as to the mind. "

well I'll be dipped...

Mrs. Pappyb actually ponied up with a Corgi Harrier GR.3 -- aa32407. From the looks of the box it's been sitting on the store shelf for 4-5 years. She got it at hobbytown, so paid too much for it, but she "wanted to get me a little something that was truly for me, rather than another pair of socks". What a woman, eh?

I don't have a 1:72 harrier so it has a place in my collection, not the scheme I would have chosen but I'm not going to return the thing (plus, she likes it, so having a plane in my collection she likes can only help me )

And "the twins got me a rubberband-powered mustang" to play with with them in the park....

After years of gift-giving occasions with no planes I was blind-sided, to say the least

That's very sweet of your wife, Pappy....good for you. The Corgi Harrier you described from Hobbytown shop - I almost bought it for myself at one point, but the paint scheme didn't really grab me, though it was nice.
