That's why teams should kick the FG on third down... but man, Romo was like a foot away from the first down. What a heartbreaker! (Good thing I'm not a Cowboys fan -- but I am a parcells fan...)

Congrats Pappy, On your Pats win. I knew something would finally give. Coach Belickick is one cool leader, he knew he couldn't beat the Chargers, so he let the Chargers beat them selves. And the surprise for me I thought Rivers would be the scapegoat, boy was i wrong he was on target, it was the veterans , miss and dropped balls , stupid stupid penalties . We shot ourselves in the foot. . Good Luck on the next round.


Time to start getting my Padres stuff out. And that's not looking good for this coming season......... ........there's always the beach and bikinis.......

What a wild weekend for football! Duh Bears bear-ly got past the Seahawks. And what happened to San Diego???? Damn sam! Hope the Saints beat duh Bears next weekend and the Pats loose to the Colts! Gonna be fun for sure! Get out the cold beer, wings, dawgs and and pull up a chair! Wow like to see the Saints and Colts in Miami next month! Somebody different instead of the Pats.

Yeah, I'm astounded we won that game -- looking purely at the stats, we had no biz coming out on top. I think it did come down to experience, those penalties were atrocious, and that Int turned fumble was the play of the game (also for it burning a replay timeout, which was a bit of a bonehead move by the coaching staff).

Not sure what LT was spouting about after the game, saying Bill B doesn't have class. I agree that the pats shouldn't have mocked Merriman, but he's been asking for it for some time now (sending lights out care packages to people who didn't make the playoffs or got bounced out... and there was som bad blood between the pats and chargers due to their comments after pasting the pats at home last year...). Generally, I think the pats are a pretty classy group, but once in while someone's gonna blow off some steam. And I do feel for LT having the season he did and not being able to get in a position to bring it home for the chargers at the end of the game. It's too bad, as I like the chargers -- but someone had to win and experience came through in the end. (But yeah, Rivers played well -- an astounding number of drops!)

It's only fitting that if the colts are to make it to the big game they have to go through the pats... another tough one next weekend!

I think the Chargers will be back in the hunt for sure next year, and this game will help them.
