Re: Snowbird Pilot Killed

That's very sad indeed. My prayers go out to the pilot's family...

Re: Snowbird Pilot Killed

I remember a few years back, in fact about 1995. My father and me went to the shearwater international air show in nova scotia and saw a Nimrod of the Royal air force put on a very good show. After words we went on the plane when it was on the ground for display and meet some of the crew, real great guys. About a week later I was watching the news on tv as I was eating my super and much to my horrer they showed this same plane crashing into lake ontario. They had been doing an air show and a bird got sucked inside one of the jet intakes and all the poor crew was killed on impact. Airshows are a fun thing but they can turn to a sad affair very fast. Just goes to show how in the blink of an eye you are here and gone. I have a pic of that plane in my photo albulm, I can still see the crew members as they welcomed people on to the plane. God bliss all the brave men and woman who risk there lives in the sky's above for show's or for watching over us.

I remember that one. I had a flight of about 45 minutes on this bird at the Dayton Ohio airshow. They took some of the airshow photographers up on the Thursday before the show. Shortly afterward it did indeed crash into Lake Ontario during the CNE Airshow.
