Blazing Angels Help

I installed the game, and try to play the first mission, but it seems that the aircraft just stays in a left roll?

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

THis the PC version? If so, do you have joystick installed? May need to calibrate it if so...

Re: Blazing Angels Help

Yes, this is for the P.C. version. Also the first mission in the Gladiaor, while they are still telling the story, my plane goes down the runway with no control over it . The screen is focused way out on the whole airfield, at the time, because they are setting up a story, and then it just comes out and say that I crashed. My stick is calibrated, I just tested it out. I think I might have a bad game? That ever happen?

Re: Blazing Angels Help

I was not able to use my joystick, and have to use the mose option. I couldn't find an option to calibrate the game to my joystick. I am able to use the joystick without problem in other games.

Hope that helps.

PS playing with mouse is challenging as the plane doesn't respond like with a joystick.

Re: Blazing Angels Help

Was it doing the same thing that mine is? If this is the case I might be bringing it back.

Sounds like the exact same problem I was having. I was a little upset, but it was on sale for $20 so I can't complain too much.

It is a pretty fun (yet fustrating) game once you get the hang of flying with a mouse. I wish the interface was more like MOH Pacific Assault. That game was difficult, but you could still control the plane like a joystick

Re: Blazing Angels Help

It may be the game doesn't support joysticks, which would be pretty darn silly... make sure you don't have two different types of controllers plugged in at once, for example a gamepad and a joystick -- that can cause the trouble you're having.

Assuming you don't have mult controllers connected, try the game with the mouse (joystick unplugged) and see what happens... then hit up the readme file, and/or online support for patches and suggestions. It's highly unlilkely that returning the game for a new copy will resolve the issue.

Actually, here's a snip from teh review on gamespot...

"Flying planes in Blazing Angels is kept pretty light, though the mouse-and-keyboard control is totally inadequate. Given the game's console roots, your best bet is playing with something resembling a dual analog joystick. If you have an Xbox 360 controller, the buttons for that controller will appear onscreen, but you'll still have to configure the buttons to your liking. Considering that you aren't able to configure the controls in-game, you'll have to quit out each time you want to change something, relaunch, watch the StarForce check, button past all of the intro screens, and then reselect a profile just to get back into the action. That process gets awfully annoying as you're trying to feel out what the best control option would be."

So unplug that joystick, and try the keyboard and mouse or plug in an Xbox 360 corded controller if you have one...

Re: Blazing Angels Help

I guess there were some patches they came out with to fix that you have to download. I went to UBI 's support site, and got them. It works fine now. Thanks for your help everyone.
