| Re: Tank or plane? I have this very vague recollection that these were all part of a series of experiments in landing systems for "unimproved" runways (i.e., grass strips, tundra, or mud). The idea was to distribute the aircraft weight over a wider area. I do not think it was related to ice/snow landing. I could be wrong, of course. | ||||||||||||||
