Re: China toy embargo?

Hi Guys,
The majority of our Toys are made in China. Thankfully my collection of CHABAK airliners were made in Germany Woo Hoo! Guess we gotta follow typical collector protocal now and wear cotton gloves when we handle our diecast.

The list of offending products is getting larger everyday! Toothpaste,KY jelly, Oinment for hemroids hair products.Propholaptics Man We're in serious trouble. They probably poke holes in them He YAY HAW!!!! Alph

Re: China toy embargo?

There is also a high lead content in plastics from China as well. I did a quick audit at a local Walmart and found that a large number of popular brand name stick pens are made in China. ( BIC and Papermate).
How many politicians, university professors and doctors and as well as others sit with their pen in the corner of their mouths while contemplating the ways of the world. Could explain a lot !

Yup -- this is beginning to look like a real mess -- all in the name of bargain basement prices. (Or ARE they?)

I'm really fed-up with a lot if this shoddy cheap as possible crap that Target, Walmart, etc keep palming off on us. It all seems to fall apart after a couple of months. Admittedly with 3 boys between 5 and 10 my house is a bit of a durability proving ground, but some of this stuff should last a damn site longer than it does.

If it costs 1/2 as much but only lasts a quarter fo the time it's not exactly bargin basement is it

Ooops!

Well, it IS 'basement', but I do question 'bargain'. In fact shoddy and cheap do accurately describe most of the manufactured stuff. Forgive me for showing my ignorance, but wasn't the idea to provide products at 1/2 the price at the SAME quality level? Anyhow, I'd completely boycott goods made in China if it wasn't for the fact I'd be sitting here with zilch -- including my treasured diecast! (MIB Dinky collection excluded!)

It should be but in my experience they are not. Walmart and the rest are demanding good be produced as cheep as possible. Quality does not even come into the equation.

Ooops!
