Re: Will you get diecast for X-mas?

My girlfriend warned I would never get any diecast from her.

I had a girlfriend once that told me that if we got married, I would have to sell my 1969 Charger. You know, sometimes I still miss her cooking.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

You better hope your wife does not see that post you just put up.

I think my wife would like to get me a diecast plane, but two things stop her: She's afraid of online commmerce, and she is afraid of getting me something I already have.

Re: Will you get diecast for X-mas?

The girl that became my wife understood that i have hobbies. She doesn't always understand them, but she knows I have them. She is pretty understanding. And Bsmith, the same in my house. My wife would have no idea where to even start.

Re: Will you get diecast for X-mas?

My girl cannot see the fascination with metal toys. However much to her annoyance she can now give the names of most of the old warbirds when she sees them. She tells me I have made her into a sad *&^&*&^ just like me!! When she asked me what I wanted to find under the tree this year I said "you my darling" what answer did I get ? In your dreams buddy now what do you really want? Well my little Lotus blossom, a couple of P40s would be nice. Havnt got you enough of those already!!! HOW MANY DO YOU WANT? Well my beautifull little cherub ,as many as I can get. Well Its time you threw those old slippers away and got some new ones AND that grotty old sweater is fit only for the dog to sleep on ,I am not having you walking about looking like an old tramp so its slippers and a new sweater and like it or else! Merry Christmas folks. Ps little does she now that Father Christmas has a parcel from the Mule to deliver yet.

God Bless America.

Hmmm, perhaps a lesson on how to use the Mule's Wishlist is in order

Re: Will you get diecast for X-mas?

Back in the early stages of my addiction my wife picked up a few things for me, but only things I expressly pointed out as wanting to have -- a 1:24 mahogony Fokker triplane (not diecast, but a plane and gorgeous) and a CDC 1:48 Boyington Corsair... Now that my collection has "progressed" she would have no idea what to safely buy for me on her own and I don't get much of a kick out of "get this model for me please" ... So I happily accept my new socks and undies each year and am my own diecast santa claus

Re: Will you get diecast for X-mas?

My wife gives me diecast presents every year. Each October I give her a list of planes along with the retailers who have them and she gets a few.
I already know she got me a Strawberry Beeatch Lib. It's the only heavy on my list and the box is too big to be anything else. (I also peeked)

I love it!

You would think that this would just make it that much easier to buy for us. My last girlfriend hated my diecast too, or maybe it was my collection of photos or was it the pilot helmets or.......

Hey, I'm a militaria junky.

Re: Will you get diecast for X-mas?

THat isawsome admin. hey I am looking for an old flight helmet for display. Do you know where I can find one that is not $1,000,000? It doesn't have to be fancy.
