Military Channel?

Hey guys,

Maybe you all can give me some feedback here. I'd like to get the Military Channel and History International but would have to get dishnetwork to do it?

Is it worth it? Price is about the same as what I have/don't have now...

What kind or programming do you like on either of those channels as far as planes and tanks are concerned?
Thanks

Re: Military Channel?

The Military Channel and the History Channel are pretty much all I watch (that and about 4-5 other channels). I pay $62/month for 80+ channels on Direct TV and actually watch 6-7.

Shows I like on the Militray Channel include:

Weaponology - the genesis of a particular weapon
FutureWeapons - whats new in weapons and what the future holds
20th Century Battlefields - Review of particular battle with computer animations

Plus there is always something to see on both channels if your a history/military buff.

I will say that the downside to satellite (for me at least) is that I loose signal during storms and heavy rain. Cable is not an option for me....

Re: Military Channel?

I had to dump The Military Channel because it was a part of the huge package I had in my cable plan....But I couldn't justify the extra cost for all the other crap channels I never watched...I might have gone ahead and kept it except for the fact that there was just so much repetitive programming on it...Many times I would sit down to watch a program only to realize I had already seen it before....I don't miss it that much...I can usually find enough military programming on The History Channel to satisfy me.

Here in Orlando, the Military Channel is not on the regular cable service. You have to get Direct TV or another satellite dish. I watch alot on the Military Channel. Also the NFL Network is on satellite too.
I have the "Wings of the Luftwaffe" on VHS when it was on the Discovery Channel and bought it back in the early 90's. Has anyone seen it on dvd? I would love to have it on dvd, before the vhs tapes cumble away in this Florida heat.

Re: Military Channel?

History International is plus. On numerous occasions I have come across programs on HI that were better than anything else on the sat.
