Tophat ,many years ago Airfix made a couple of WW1 kits one of them was a Cambria tank if memory serves me well.
I dont know if these are still available.
Mo , do you have any info on these ?

Yes. This kit is still available, as are many of the old Airfix kits, despite Airfix having gone belly-up! They are being reissued.

Also, in 1.72 scale, EMHAR do a small range of WW1 kits which are excellent models, and are well researched. You can choose from : Mk lV Male ; Mk lV female ; German A7V ; Medium A Whippet.

In 1.35 scale EMHAR produce the following : Mk lV Male ; Mk lV female ; Medium A Whippet ; The Tadpole ( a Mk. lV with a lengthened tail which housed a trench mortar ) ; The Haemaphrodite ( a Mk lV with one male and one female sponson ) ; and soon they will have a Schneider ( if it isn't out now ).

Top Hat,

to e-mail the distributers for these kits, mail to : info@pocketbond.co.uk They should tell you who distributes Emhar kits in the USA.

Re: Most Interesting Tanks for Collectors

As a relatively recent convert to the tank world, my knowledge isn't that great. But there are a couple of things I'd like to see :

1.) WW2 Halftracks with anti-aircraft guns, either American or German

2.) More tanks/vehicles from the WW2 North African campaign, both Allies and Axis.

See the Dragon 1/35th scale for those halftracks. The German one is out and the US one is coming soon. North African items would be welcomed from all participants.

Yeah, I know I could get more choices with the Corgi 1/50 line and some other bigger scales, but I'm sticking with the 1/72 scale, and that's where we're missing the AA vehicles and the North African combatants.

So I guess I'll have to wait for now . . .
