The Hounorable Gordon O'Connor, Minister of National Defence, the Honourable Josée Verner, Minister of International Cooperation and Lieutenant-General Angus Watt, Chief of the Air Staff, will welcome the arrival of Canada's new C-17 Globemaster III strategic lift aircraft at the Abbotsford International Air Show in Abbotsford, BC.
WHERE: Abbotsford International Airport On the airfield
WHEN: Saturday, August 11, 2007
TIME: 11:50 a.m. (PDT)
Following the public statements at approximately 12:10 p.m. PDT, there will be a photo opportunity with Minister O'Connor, Minister Verner, Lt.-Gen. Watt and Canadian Forces members.
Media wishing to attend the above opportunities should seek accreditation and register with Mr. Ashley Haslett, no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, August 10. Mr. Haslett can be reached at anytime on his mobile phone at 604-763-7472. After having received media accreditation, and upon arrival at the Airshow, media should report to the Media Chalet, on the infield of the Abbotsford International Airport. (Entrance Gates and Parking will be clearly marked.)
