Enjoying Texas Hospitality

Just in College Station for some training, first time back in 3 years. Nice weather first two days here, today had 60 mph winds, little tricky training at the Brayton Fire Training field let me tell you. A big Yee Haa to all the Aggie fans out there!!!!

Gig 'Em Aggies.

That should tick off the TU fans on here.

Just happy to be out of the snow for a week and a half.

Cheers all.

P.S. Where's the closest Tuesday Morning???

Re: Enjoying Texas Hospitality

Thanks Warhawk, wonderful state you have here. We flew into George Bush International, most I've seen of Houston. Can't wait to come back in February, two more weeks of training down here, in the dead of winter, which will be nice for sure.

Been scouting stores for inexpensive diecast, nothing really to find in this college town unfortunatley.

Re: Enjoying Texas Hospitality

Hey there ya go, it is a small world, as my wife has a cousin that lives in College Station. I understand he had a cattle or horse ranch but not sure if he sold it and now lives in the city. Anyway, it's a long trip from Australia where I live so don't put any beers on the bar for me just yet

Re: Enjoying Texas Hospitality

Just got back from one of our instructor's home outside of Bryan, very nice "little" spread bordering a lake. Can't say enough about the wonderful people in this state, everyone here treats us Canucks like gold, and make us feel at home. I can't wait to get home to the family, but I our stay has been nothing but pleasant. Good food, good people, good training, beer, eh, its no Creemore Springs, but you can't have everything... Shiner Bock and MGD will have to do.

Thanks to the Lone Star folks and surrogates that have posted, looking forward to returning in a few months. If I could make the same money here as I do at home, I might consider moving down here....although Christmas without snow is kinda eerie.

Cheers.

Re: Enjoying Texas Hospitality

I was just in Dallas and F.T. Worth for training like two months ago. I had to pick up a Longhorn hat and t-shirt. Hook 'Em Horns!!

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.
