Most Wanted Small Nation Warbirds

All of the diecast aircraft models marketed so far are major power entries ---including Italy and France as well as the more obvious countries. However smaller nations have produced some very effective warbirds since the late 1930s. Among these are Poland's PZL P.11, PZL P.23 and PZL P.37, Romania's IAR-80, Holland's Fokker D XXI and G-1, Finland's Myrsky II, Yugoslavia's Ikarus IK-2 and 3, Sweden's Saab 18 twin engined prop-driven bomber plus its jets- the Saab 29, 32, 35 and 37. And let's not forget the Czech Avia 524 or L-29 Delfin, Spain's CASA C-101 Aviojet and Argentina's Pucara. Obviously I won't hold my breath waiting for Corgi, Dragon----or even Hobby Master-----to produce any of these, but I find many of them very interesting and have kit-makes of a number of those listed above. If you could impose your will upon the diecast makers would any small nation aircraft be on your wishlist?

I'd say the best bet of seeing any of those would be from Easy Model but that would mean plastic- not that it bothers me! In metal you're not likely to ever get them.

Re: Most Wanted Small Nation Warbirds

My choice is - Hispano Ha-220 Súper Saeta (picture enclosed for all those who never heard of this bird before). Also, and even though France was not included among the quoted "small" nations, I most definitely want a Dassault Mirage F1!

Re: Most Wanted Small Nation Warbirds

Dutch Fokker DXX1 please. I love the fixed undercarriage and as far as I can recall I made a plastic kit many moons ago in Finnish markings. It would look great with my Corgi Finnish Gladiator.

Was the kit by any chance from PM Model ( from Turkey ). I made one of these about a dozen years ago. Like most models from this line it had practically no detail, but at the time I didn't care.

I dont think so, it was either Frog or Revell.

I wish I had had a Badger airbrush in those days. When I think of how hard I tried to get a good finish using a brush.
