Yes. It was obsolete, expensive to maintain, and could not meet the needs of the Navy. 13 46.43%
No. It should have been upgraded as it would have made a better platform than the F/A-18E/F 10 35.71%

I think the Tomcat is a great looking awesome aircraft. I would have loved seeing it fly. I saw the Super Hornet but don't think it has the presence or impact of the Tomcat. At the same show I saw the Su34, now those Russians flew a wicked display!

70's technology and two man crew. Costs too much to keep them running, but oh what a bird in it's prime.
