Why I hate ebay....

Tonight I spent close to two hours listing some stuff on ebay. Finally, I finish in time so I can relax and watch some Lost/World Series. I go to check the email before heading for bed and what do I see, but six of my items have been pulled for listing violations. Apparently a seller can no longer say he will accept cash as a form of payment. Does this garbage ever happen to anyone else? Over my entire ebay user experiance (since '99) I have probably had over 10 auctions pulled for chicken sh*t. In order to make things as easy as possible for buyers, ebay has left sellers out in the cold. You can't mention Paypal without having a premier account, you can't tell people to send well concealed cash, can't mention SS when describing a model, and only god knows why you can't list a Madonna CD that your wife got for free at the Gap when she bought a pair of jeans. People must read through listings just so they can find something wrong and report it to ebay. These must be the same people who used to listen to Howard Stern waiting for him to say something "indecent" so they could call the FCC. [/rant]

I hear you man. The politically correctness of things is getting out of hand. I still listen to Howard on Satellite.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: Why I hate ebay....

Did you manually post these or did you use something like TurboLister? I am about to embark on a round of eBay selling, and I would be happy to learn from your mistakes.

Panzer,
I have not been having that problem at all.
But again i only take M.O. or PayPal.
At this time i buy more then sell.
So maybe they have changed in the last year or so.

I can see what you mean Planenuts their fee's are a little high at times,But that depends how much the item sold for too.
The pay pal is good for the buyer....And again there is a little fee for the seller.

Thumbs up Re: Why I hate ebay....

i have been and Ebayer for well over 7 years and had very few issues, both as a seller and buyer.

PayPal is also a very good service, never had any issue that were not my fault and once again very few.

Re: Why I hate ebay....

Not anymore except for face to face transactions. I had quite a few buyers who sent me cash wrapped in a newspaper article and never had a problem so I made it an option in my auctions. But now in order to "protect buyers" it is not allowed. In the not to distant future buyers will need to be protected from sending money orders and checks in the mail and Paypal will be the only option on ebay. Odd how "protecting buyers" goes hand in hand with increasing ebay's revenues, Paypal coincidently being a subsidiary of ebay.

PayPal is much faster and much safer for all involved. Money orders are no longer 100% guarantee and mailing cash can not be the best idea in the world.

I have had two from Canada, that were not real and the bank accepted them then called me around 10 days later.

Stick with PayPal, things get shipped faster and you rarely get burned unless you ship to the non verified address or the item is lost in shipping and not insured.
