Re: Bats outa hell?

The Funnel Web Spider is probably the most dangerous spider we have here

www.abc.net.au/reslib/200703/r129695_427529.jpg

Ive only seen them in captivity & photos, they try to stay out of the way I guess. Im more worried by heart disease, cancer, car accidents & the wife discovering the true extent of my diecast spending etc

I have encountered a few Funnel Web spiders whilst living in Sydney where they are relatively common if you dig in the garden especially in the higher sandstone areas. They are the only spider I've seen that will stand its ground and sometimes even run towards you if threatened. And believe me when those guys go for you, it's wise to get out of the way. The male Funnel web is the most dangerous and migrates looking for mates and will sometimes enter dwellings.

The smaller Redback spider are very common across most of Australia and most Aussie houses will have them somewhere in their backyards. But when I've tried to stir these guys up they always seem intent on getting away. Frankly I think you'd be un lucky to get a Redback to bite unless it was protecting its eggs or something.

Re: Bats outa hell?

That's a bummer, as I've always wanted to visit Australia...I'm now scratching it off my list ....I'm terrified of spiders that run away from me (I scream like a little girl), let alone even the thought of one running towards me..

Does she have a sexy witch outfit like this one?
If so who cares if she is a witch.
