My opinion has no relation to my opinions of the atrocities of Japanese forces during WWII. I believe that the war in the pacific can and should be understood from more perspectives than that one alone.
I don't know. I really don't have a clue about the politics behind the movies backing other than what I've read here, but that's not what I was speaking to anyway. I'm merely speaking to the concept honoring the pilots. |
Agreed. I shook hands with Gunther Rall last week and would have no problem shaking the hand of an intended Kamikaze. The problem is that as we are all aware, media can be used to take the worthy objective as you suggest and twist it to an agenda that has a subversive purpose. The mayor/governor of Tokyo who is responsible for the movie has a reputation of doing exactly that:
