PC Game - Attack Squadron????

I picked up the following - Jane's Combat Simulations: Attack Squadron - on clearance at Target last night for $2.48.

Is this a good/decent game or was there a reason it was $2.48?

(A friend of mine has set me up with a couple WWII flight simulation games and I do own a joystick for my PC - but I've never even tried jumping into PC flight/combat simulation. Eventually, I will ...when the kids leave...Lost, Battlestar Galactica, the Daily Show, Cobert Report, Heroes, The Shield, Rescue Me, Nip/Tuck, Stargate Atlantis, Earl, The Office, 24, etc., etc. get cancelled...I stop going to church...I retire.....I...)

Re: PC Game - Attack Squadron????

DAD, somebody's got to be the bearer of bad news and what better bad news-bearer could a guy ask for than me?..

I have no personal experience with it myself, but if you want to read the heartbreaking news for yourself, just go to amazon.com and read the customers' reviews on it...

If you want to try an inexpensive and fun combat flight sim that doesn't require you dedicate a great deal of time to a learning curve, I would highly recommend Wings Over Vietnam or Strike Fighters/Project I...Both of these can be found for a song...I saw Strike Fighters at Circuit City for 5 bucks. You can fly all the cool fighters and attack jets from the 60s....It's great fun to hunt down a Mig in your F-8 (Wings Over Vietnam)and blow it out of the sky with a Sidewinder ...and remember, if ya get too close for missiles you've got 4 big cannons at your disposal....or pretend you're Randy Cunningham in happier days locking on to the mythical Colonel Toon in "Showtime 100".

It's great fun!
