"Dogfights" on History Channel

I don't know if any of you saw the pilot episode of this show last year. (Heh, pilot, no pun intended). The producers interviewed the pilots and consult all available accounts of a particular battle, then recreate the battle in CGI with interviews from anyone who is still alive. The first show featured Eddie Rickenbacker's 1v6, Bud Anderson's famous dogfight, an F-86 dogfight in Korea and Cunningham's duel with Colonel Toon. (If you missed it, you can buy it at historychannel.com for $29.95). I can't say enough good things about this show.

This outstanding show is now a series. It premiers on November 3rd. Check your local listings.

Re: "Dogfights" on History Channel

Yeah, I bought the DVD last year. I also met the guy who rendered Rickenbacker's CGI SPAD from another forum. Awesome dude!

Too bad, Randy "Duke" Cunningham turned out to be a %$#@! politician, but I digress.

Re: "Dogfights" on History Channel

This was one of the rare good shows on the History Channel. Hopefully they have kept up the quality.

It is a great show, I own it as well. I love the Bud Anderson part.

Watching it now! Tex Hill's P-40 fighting a Japanese Oscar. Cool!

I thought tonight's episode was very well done.
