Re: The Detroit Tigers are on a roll!

Boy was that an ugly series! I'm a Cards fan so I'm happy with the victory but it sure wasn't pretty. I still can't believe Detroit played that poorly after such a great season. It might not be much consolation right now but with their young pitching they should be good over the next few years. Hopefully, they'll learn from this and get back to World Series. I definitely think the Card's playoff experience over the last few years helped them out.

As a Cubs fan living in the middle of Cardinal Nation I was thrilled to see my favorite AL team get a shot. But as all Cubs fans know "It's wait til next year!"

Re: The Detroit Tigers are on a roll!

I was pulling for the Tigers as an AL and AL Central fan but the Birds performed when it mattered so my hat is off to them.

I only hope they will now stop talking about Don Denkinger and revel in the beauty of the present. After all, Denkinger didn't score 11 runs on Tudor in game 7 waaaaay back in '85. Baseball is a beautiful game and the Cards earned their place this year by winning when it counted. Salute!

(Before I get completely flamed I agree Denkinger missed the call but that's how the game goes sometimes. As a fan, I have lost more games on suspect calls than I have won so enjoy the moment... as a Red Sox fan I am still happy!)

Re: The Detroit Tigers are on a roll!

I remember Barry Binds as a Pirate not being able to throw out Sid Bream running on two bad knees in the mid 90's causing the pirates the pennant. I have a shirt that says "Where were you when Sid slid."

Talking Re: The Detroit Tigers are on a roll!

That was so great, it's been a long time since we won the World Series. After what happened with the Red Sox two years ago I didn't want to get too confident. It looks like I'm the only St. Louisan around here .
