| Re: Hercs & Connies at Corgi Field That is cool. How did you make all of that? I love the hangars. I mean when was Corgi Field built, and what is the field elevation? | |||||||||||||

| Re: Hercs & Connies at Corgi Field A-109E, Wow, that is really a sweet presentation. Thanks for posting. Do you also have a "military" version of Corgi field? (Perhaps earlier war pictures?) or is it purely for civilian use? By the way, how did you get past the security to get onto the tarmac? ![]() | |||||||||||||

| Re: Hercs & Connies at Corgi Field
The hangar itself is a 1/144 card model made for Corgi years ago by Metcalfe Models in England. http://www.tricatus.co.uk/31805.htm I've added some scenery items from the model railroad section of my hobby shop. N Gauge is the closest, although a bit underscale. I built this diorama about two years ago as a sort of photo studio for my collection of Corgi 1/144 aircraft. These are nice models, but certainly not contest-quality as individual items. Still, as a collection they're great. Field elevation? Gee.....I dunno........
Corgi Field is a joint-use facility, meaning you'll see both civilian aircraft (on one ramp) and military on another. Metcalfe made a WWII US airfield card model for Corgi, seen here: http://www.tricatus.co.uk/31806.htm You can find these card models on eBay from time to time. Security? No problem: I work at Corgi Field and have an ID badge which allows me access to the ramp. ![]() | |||||||||||||||
