Or are there any sites that let you just pring out non Carrier kinds of bases like WWII style tarmac or something like that.

Hi Flaps,

I picked up one of the Verlinden printed cardstock carrier decks as pictured above on eBay for about $15 including shipping. They're also available from Squadron [squadron.com] who, as I understand it, bought Verlinden at some point.

If any of us had the money and space, we could attach several deck sections together, scratch-build an island for the starboard side, obtain a bunch of pre-painted deckhands, and have a mega-diorama...
