Does anyone have a good way to make little placards - something that might list aircraft info, etc to be used to display with aircraft/vehicles?

I'm not sure how much you want to spend, but you could ask a trophy maker what they would charge for just an engraved plate. I called my local engraver and she said for a business card size placard would be $12.00 minimum.

You could possibly get a simple program or template for printing onto labels - something like address labels or such. There's sheets of them with lots of different sizes - check Office Depot, OfficeMax, etc. You could probably do it in Microsoft Word or such to print the text onto the label. It might take you a few tries to get it in just the right spot. Then you could put the label on some kind of little card that you could probably find at a stationary store. Wala. Then you could use the same template to make cards for any and all planes. Woohoo! Craft project!

I have printed small labels from Microsoft Word. In word, create a table, 1 Column x 1 Row in size. Then go into Table Properties to set the Column Width and Row Height. I select 9.5cm wide (about 3.5inches) by 5.5cm high (2.25inches).

I use the formatting commands in Word to colour and size the text, apply a border, etc. Then I print the page on my colour laser printer, and trim the page to size.

The label is then put in a plastic business card holder that I purchase from the local stationery store for around $2.50.
