Re: Dioramas and Displays

JP, I'm not positive but I believe it's around 1/700th scale.

Thanks,Cardo - nothing says "I love you" quite like the gift of a rusty old shipwreck......You might be interested to know I also have a model of the Hindenburg (no, it's not going down in flames).

Thanks,Cap - not my cup of Moxie either, but I have to admit it was a lot of fun.

This shot gives an idea of what it looks like on display under the blacklight.

Looks good under the black light. You're right........it does look eerie! I'm going to feel creepy for the rest of the night

Do you have to put on clothes from the 60's to look at it

I think I can see where Rose dropped her diamond into the ocean.
All joking aside, you did a great job with it.

Very nice Skunky, it shows great imagination. I would be surprised if couldn't sell them but I'm guessing it took too long to make it worth the while?

Re: Dioramas and Displays

Donning 60's garb, though not a necessity, does enhance the experience somewhat..Just out of camera range is my Austin Powers 747 "shagadelic" diorama tucked between two lava lamps..

Taff, it did take a while - definitely not a project I would ever be interested in repeating(ships aren't really my thing), and I've been out of the "building" business for quite some time now, but I am getting a little work corner set up in my newly finished basement (finally - a place just for me), and I'm always thinking of diorama ideas....I was actually thinking of a Lady Be Good dio, as I've always been intrigued with that story, so who knows?....Anybody have an old 'D' Libby kit they wanna get rid of? ...

Thanks again for the positive comments, guys...glad you liked it..

As opposed to the rest of the time? Either way it's probably an experience you wouldn't soon forget...

Re: Dioramas and Displays

  • Here's my B-17 "Nine O Nine" diorama that I built few months ago.
  • I used the Rail road modelling grass and gravel.
  • The vehicles are diecast too.
  • The bombs racks are from other CORGI models.
  • This display sits in my living room and it has become an attraction and discussion point for everyone who comes over...
  • I also built a P-51D Mustang diorama...I'll show that one later...
Enjoy...
