Re: Dioramas and Displays

Here's one I did several years back for my wife who is a Titanic fan. First I did a "factory fresh" one. Then I decided to get another one to demonstrate the "finished product"..I have it on the bottom shelf of my basement entertainment center, illuminated under a blacklight..The effect is quite eerie..Unfortunately it doesn't show in the photos......(drilling every porthole out with a pinvise was the most tedious part)

Re: Dioramas and Displays

Thanks, guys.....As I recall, planenuts, it was a combination of a couple different flavors of rust acrylics and Doc O'Briens weathering powders applied over brushed on white glue sprinkled with model railroad ground scenery.

Re: Dioramas and Displays

Am I the only one to find it disturbing that Skunky built a model of the Titanic, makes one think doesn't it ...

(Seriously, you've done a great job there Skunky - your wife must know that you're a true romantic at heart .)

Very nice, Skunky. Not my cup of tea, but very nice indeed!

Re: Dioramas and Displays

JP, I'm not positive but I believe it's around 1/700th scale.

Thanks,Cardo - nothing says "I love you" quite like the gift of a rusty old shipwreck......You might be interested to know I also have a model of the Hindenburg (no, it's not going down in flames).

Thanks,Cap - not my cup of Moxie either, but I have to admit it was a lot of fun.

This shot gives an idea of what it looks like on display under the blacklight.
