Re: Old model kits and box art

Pioneer 2 put out some interesting models, but these can be real bears to make and you have to add a bit of your own detailing.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: Old model kits and box art

Pegasus models are another one that can be a real challenge, locator pins, not on this one. These make the Pioneer 2 models look a bit easy to put together,

Re: Old model kits and box art

Great thread,
CC you brought back some happy memories.
I built every prop plane that Airfix made, about 200 if memory serves me.

Many of these are from the late 60s early 70s.

Re: Old model kits and box art

It just shows how many nice models they made in the Golden Era of models.....You don't see these around to much anymore..
Back then i like the way the plastic felt it was a lot thicker then they are now...But if i recall there were a few cheap companies making models with
the thinner plastic and i didn't care for them too much back then.
This is really nice to see these again....Keep them coming for all to see..

The Airfix Meteor was also a pretty good kit too. Kind of wish someone would do this version in diecast.

I had a De Haviland Beaver that was pretty close to being vacuform thin. Not sure, but think Comet, maybe Strombecker might have put some of these out. Not particularly good kits.
