Re: Savoia S.21 and Curtiss R3C-0

Thnx leeG. I would like to add the Curtiss to my collection as i've not seen it in the flesh is it good in details ? And where can i get a die cast model of the S.21

I got my 1/72 scale Porco Rosso S.21 at the Studio Ghibli Museum in Tokyo. I liked the movie. And the museum. Passed on the Curtiss. These are both plastic models. I don't think there are any in diecast.

Never mind I found the answers, its 1/72, plastic, has to be built and is too expensive.

I love Polikarpov

I love the anime too. Is the kit prepainted ? From the pics of Ken Airmodel its prepainted.I simply love the bright red colour of the plane.

Yeah, its a bit pricey about USD 25 from my local store. Are there two version from Porco Rosso's S.21 ?? Here a sample pics.

That model does look pretty neat, and I like the way it is packaged.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Yes, there are two versions. The plane before Curtis shot him down and the reconstructed version. The big difference is the radiator, the first has it on the sides of the engine and the latter has it under the engine. Plus the latter has a second cockpit for Flo.

I agree with you CC. You can't beat the Japanese in packaging.
