Hey Admin! I missed this post previously... Don’t be intimidated by it though. It’s big which in some ways will be a plus. The key issue w/ it is the fit of the engine nacelles to the wings. You will find that due to the kit issues here gaps will be a bit frustrating. Don’t worry though; get yourself some good gap filler "putty". I love one called Stucco but it can be hard to find. Tamiya putty is more common and also very good and easier to find. Both of these are easy to "sculpt" and work into crevices, and also sand down easily. Avoid the classic "Green stuff" putty (sometimes also in red). This is essentially Auto body putty in a small amount and dries VERY hard and thus is tough to sand. You generally want something that dries a bit "softer" than the plastic you are applying it to. Having said that the kit really is not too tough. Don’t sweat it! So what if you make mistakes, almost all building errors can be worked over or around. My best advice is trimming the parts well and test fit everything before gluing. This really is rule #-1 for any model project! Don’t let it stress you and have a relaxing, enjoyable project! | |||||||||||||||

| Re: What are you building??? I have finished the 1/72 Fieseler Storch. It is ready for painting, which I just have not gotten around too. Hate to break out the airgun for such a small job. I should get some other German's built and do one mass spray. Meskary Also have about 7 guys 1/35 in various finishes, and the Storch came with a Kubel which is built and done in German grey, just needs finishing details, and man is that small. Smaller than a matchbox car. | ||||||||||||||

| Re: What are you building??? Right now on the bench i have 3 Revell-Monogram P-51D's in 1/48th scale and a hobbycraft 1/48 F-51D that i'm working on. Do you think I like mustangs or something?? the hobbycraft mustang is a piece of @#$! and i was forced to do a gear up model, but i came up with a pretty good idea to display it on a base using a clear plastic rod so we'll see how it comes out. i'm actually doing this one in the markings of Bald Eagle, but the one of the airshow circuit owned by Jim Beasley and based near my home at NorthEast Philly airport. i'll post pics if it comes out worthy of a picture!! brian | ||||||||||||||

| Just bought my 'ol man an airfix 1/48 Mossie (the one with paint and glue). He used to build up models 40 odd years ago, he is in his 70's now so this might give him a break from crosswords & suduko. | ||||||||||||||
