Re: News From The Front!

Wow! THat is a shock. They have been around forever.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: News From The Front!

I guess they finally spent all the profit from those 20 or so kits I bought in '67!

Re: News From The Front!

A lot of the Airfix stuff is reboxed under Italeri, Revell and I think a couple of others.....so you still should be able to get Airfix models if you want them......they'll just be in a different box

Re: News From The Front!

Its very sad. I made over 200 of those kits in my youth. The kits always had a good if not always accurate history of the plane written above the instructions. It was a good intro to aviation history for many a young lad. I have on my desk the 1/24 Spit and Me109. the Spit moulding was pretty poor ,Maybe the moulds are worn out but I had to fill and mess about for hours to get a good fit for the engine. The canopy fits were it touches also. But enough of the negative waves. They are still very impressive models.Airfix in the sixties were the best there was at the time. ( Frog made some good kits also but Revell? oh deary me). icon_sad:
