A 747 breaks in two after hard landing

A 747 cargo plane crashed at the end of a runway and split in two while trying to take off Sunday at <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comBrussels</st1:City> airport. Four of the five crew members on board the Boeing 747 were slightly injured and were hospitalized.

"The plane is very seriously damaged, The aircraft cracked in two after it crashed at the end of runway 220, which lies very close to a rail line and houses.”

The airline is owned by NHRA drag racing legend "Connie Kalitta".

A little trivia about his plane it was the same A/C which interrupted performances at the Gathering of Mustangs Friday show in 2007.

Well it's a good thing in crashed while stlll on the runway rather then to be in the air and more people could of got killed.
Glad to see the crew made it out ok...Must of been a little too heavy.

Pretty impressive looking crash, good to hear that no one was seriously injured.

Duct tape, spackle, a couple bottles of spray paint and bubblegum......just like dad used to do it!

The attempt to imitate the F-8 went badly.

Nasty mate. Plane did look good prior to the crash.
