Re: P-47 photo

It's all good Starman, I don't mind sharing the wealth.

I basically just increased the contrast, made the exposure a little darker, adjusted the tint of the picture, and reduced the saturation. If you are using Vista, you can use the Windows photo gallery viewer to do this or any other photo editing software should allow you to do these things. Not hard, you just have to experiment.

Re: P-47 photo

So please tell us photography n00bs how you edited the photo. It looks great!

Yeah, it's a toss up to me -- the edited photo looks more dramatic, but also more grainy (which also gives it a vintage look, intentional or not). Both are excellent. It's all about the angle

Noise Ninja is an excellent tool for removing grain from photos, fyi. You can use it standalone or as a plug-in for photoshop/elements.

Re: P-47 photo

Both photos look great, but kind of like the unedited version a bit better. Anymore neat looking photos?

Re: P-47 photo

Firefighter,

Just had to play a bit with photoshop to see what I'd get, kind of an aged gun-camera/newsreel texture to it, any opinions.

Re: P-47 photo

The grain is a bit excessive. Perhaps if you toned down the colors a bit, it might work better. The grain in my picture is purely from the camera. Normally I don't like it, but it works with the rustic feel I was going for.
