Not kidding kingpin..
Just wish I had the money to BUY all that i'd like...LOL

Yeah, there sure are some great artists out..for which we are real greatful.
I dabbled when younger, mainly technical style stuff..in fact.. alot of ships.
I used to think I was pretty good at art....NOT!
I have a friend who truely is a great artist..last I heard of him, he was justing starting work
for MICROSOFT..as a games graphics designer. He's done well for himself.

Re: Aviation Art Of Troy White

Nice!.....

No matter how much I love the P-51..there is no better aircraft to see flying than a Spitfire..
An aerial grace unequaled. A sight to behold.

Plus the best sound ever made by humans..the Rolls Royce Merlin...lol.
Think I'm gonna cry!....

Robert Taylor remains my favourite however this chap is also very talented. Only a lack of space has prevented me (thus far) from purchasing any decent aviation art and like a nice piece of diecast these seem to appreciate well with age.

Re: Aviation Art Of Troy White

What I realy like about Troys work is that he portray's the picture as to enhance the story
on which the picture is based. And that he tells you of the story behind the picture on his site.
I guess most artist's do this in some way...but I find Troy's work crisp and sharpe..where as others
tend to be somewhat..gloomy? And the fact be has done alot of paintings based on 352nd pilots and aircarft..LOL.

Re: Aviation Art Of Troy White

Troy does some nice Blue Nosers Mustangs ...I have seen all his prints even the new George Preddy P-40 that came out a while back...Very good stuff..
A lot of his stuff sells out fast too..One non Blue Noser print i also like that Troy did was The BlackSheep sweep.
JP

George Preddy was......Just the greatest fighter pilot who ever squinted through a gunsight.
He was a complete fighter pilot.......Colonel John C. Meyer Deputy Commander of the 352nd.

Re: Aviation Art Of Troy White

Yes..other than the Blue Noser pic's.

I rather like.."My Blue Heaven" ...( not a Blue Noser...lol), Bud Aderson pic...LOVE the angle of the view. Great feeling of speed.
and, "The Boulevards of Paris" ...very busy.....love the view looking down on Paris
Plus another new one "Battle over the Reich" ..its a new one.A 109 just after passing through a Bomber stream..very nice.
He's not sure which way up he is going to present it...it depends of your objective view..I like it so the 109 is on its back..(which it is anyway,) meaning
the bomber are up the right way and the 109 is on its back, rather than the picture turned up the other way so the bombers are on their backs and the 109 is up the right way!...if that makes sense.

Anyway..here is a site containing some real nice aircraft profiles..Even some Blue Nosers"..YUM YUM!..plus one of Willims Preddy's "Rusty"
Aircraft illustration

Enjoy!
