Close-up photo op!

A C-130 set up for a few shots. Photographer asks the pilot to move a little closer. Close enough?

Re: Close-up photo op!

There is actually a lot of discussion about these photos around the net. If you study them it is pretty clear that the second one is a much longer lens that has greatly compressed the distance between the aircraft. The fighter isn't as close as it appears and in fact is probably in about the same position as the first image.

It is either that or a new version of Valet parking,

That certainly makes sense. I imagine that ingesting a photographer, at 10,000 ft, is an excellent way for a Eurofighter jock to loose his wings.

Another good way for him to lose his wings is to get that close and chop off the Herc's tail trying to manouvre in the wake turbulence...

Re: Close-up photo op!

Can you just imagine being the photographer being above the clouds, and looking out the back ramp flying at who knows what speed just to be able to keep up with the fighter?

It is probably a C 130J and the fighter is probably way throttled back.

So who thinks this is just a photoshop pic? I know I'm not for certain.
