Re: Close-up photo op!

So who thinks this is just a photoshop pic? I know I'm not for certain.

I don't know if it's a Photoshop pic, but its definitely altered in some way. Planes don't even get that close during air refuelling.

Its a fake, if the plane got that close the airflow into the engines would be disrupted and a serious incident would take place for sure!

imho!

Re: Close-up photo op!

I'd say it's real. As 1250ships said in his post, with different focal lengths and zooms it could make the Typhoon look a lot closer than it actually is.

That's why the second pic is a fake- if it was accomplished with the tricks listed above. I can accept the first pic being real (that was probably where the Typhoon was actually at), but not the second.

Re: Close-up photo op!

Well, I ain't an expert on photoshop or airplanes....

But I have enough common sense and experience in aircraft related stuff.

I can only say that from my POV the second pic has to be "doctored" in some way.

As mentioned before several facts speak against aircraft being THAT close together.

If that picture is for real, I keep thinking it's not such a good idea to get photographic evidence of yourself and buddies breaking safety regulations

Re: Close-up photo op!

In photo #2, the cloud patterns seem larger as well, indicating that the 'close-up' was accomplished with the camera, not the Typhoon.

I consider this photo "proof" the second one was altered in some way.

Found it: IAG - Aviation and Travel - News, Information and Services

EDIT: Some discussion about the pic: Daredevil: Typhoon Strike Fighter Closing Dangerously On Hercules C130's Cargo Bay
