B-52D, B-52 Memorial Park, Orlando Int Airport

Orlando International airport used to be a SAC base from the 1950's - 1970's know as McCoy AFB.
Many years ago a memorial park was built by the old terminal to honor the McCoy SAC crews who served in Vietnam.
My father would always take me here as a child to see the B-52, I thought it was the coolest thing.
Im now 31, Im glad the park & Buff are still around
Here are a few pics I shot of the B-52D on display in B-52 Memorial park.

Re: B-52D, B-52 Memorial Park, Orlando Int Airport

I live about 15 minutes from the Orlando airport (since I got remarried last year) and I seen it from the "road" many times but never stopped and had a close look. Thank you Gerry for the "up close and personal" pictures. Beautiful shots.
Since I am a "Air Force" brat myself and also a year 6 Air Force veteran myself (1980-1986), I have seen various airshows and cool aircraft. I was in a military excercise over in Cairo, Egypt in the Summer of 1983 for 6 weeks ("Brightstar") and have some neat pics of Egytian Aircraft that was still in service at that time. I have a picture of me sitting in a MIG-15 even in my uniform!!! Felt like I even "captured" this puppy back during the Korean War (except that it had Egyptian ensignia of course). I will have to dig these out and have a future thread on these!
