Thanks for the info, dragon. I've enjoyed many of Durning's performances, some of which were very amusing. I knew he was a WWII vet, but wasn't aware of his Malmedy experience. They say you can tell a lot about a person by his idols. Durning's choice of James Cagney, marks him as a quality guy in my book.

Played an MOH winner on NCIS a little while ago. Guess he came close to the real thing.

Good for him! He's a terrific actor, I have always loved his roles... especially O Brother Where Art Thou... very funny!
