Fill'er Up!

On March 5, 2000, at 6:11pm Pacific Standard Time, Southwest Flight 1455 overran the end of the runway while landing at Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport. It crashed through a metal blast wall and then through the airport perimeter wall, coming to a screeching stop on Hollywood Way, a four-lane city street adjacent to a Chevron gas station. CHECK OUT THE GAS PRICES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The pilot must have known gas would go crazy nutzo in 2008, so he stopped by to fill up while prices were still affordable.
Can't say I blame him!

Jim, now’s the time for you to market your anti-grav, people-mover propulsion system.

Twelve dollars a gallon for diesel–???!! How does anybody on your side of the pond afford to drive anywhere? This is getting completely out of hand.

That does it! You’re coming over here to stay—permanently. Better jump the pond while you still can.

What in the living heck is going on over there??? Honestly, how are you guys going to survive 40% hikes like that in tandem with incredibly, ridiculously high gas prices?

I feel for ya, buddy. And I thought things were bad around here.

Re: Fill'er Up!

The first thing it made me think was,"So you're telling me there is over 4 times less gas available to consumers now than in 2000?".

Any world oil s/d experts chime in.

I know next to nothing about oil, but I DO know that demand has gone up, what with exploading economies of India and China. And here I was just reading how one unnamed political party is keeping a bill allowing more drilling from reaching the floor as they know it would pass. GRRRRRRRR

By preventing the drilling bill from passing, that same un-named political party hopes it will give them more clout to socialize the oil refineries in this country (err, nationalize according to Maxine Waters).
Anybody care for gas rationing and being told when you can drive?

Re: Fill'er Up!

Senator Obama wants to withdraw or renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement

The US Government Statistics states the following 2007 crude oil imports into the U.S.

Canada 1.85 million barrels of crude oil per day
Mexico 1.47
Saudi Arabia 1.36

Total petroleum liquids for 2007

Canada 2.4 million barrels per day
Mexico 1.6
Saudi Arabia 1.4

What do you think your gas prices will be when President Obama takes Alberta oil offline?

China has been looking at expanding their presence and rebuilding an old WW2 pipeline to the West Coast so there are other buyers.
