Many stories and books on the Aluetian Campaign, with many titled Forgotten Warriors or Forgotten Campaign. Any Anchorage book store will have dozens, so not really forgotten by some. The 11th Air Force memorial in Anchorage is a wonderful sight, commemorating the brave troops who fought there. There is a good History Channel show that takes some veterans back to talk about the campaign. Wrong uniforms, wrong intelligence, wrong equipment, etc. plus the weather made it horrible. | Thank you for the information. I will have to see if I can find something covering this theater of operations. |
