Re: George Bush 'chest bumps' an airman

Why does the term "not presidential" suddenly come to my mind?

Ya mean he should look "more presidential", like this?

Probably the same reason that term comes to mind frequently during every Presidency- they're human.

Re: George Bush 'chest bumps' an airman

Yeah right, he's the most "presidential" president you had in a LONG time...

Just my 2 cents...

Just my two cents- he respects the office. He (and his staff) dress professionally. They don't leave pizza boxes and other trash lying around the White House. And, I guarantee you he and Laura will NOT loot the WH and Air Force One of all the furniture and dinnerware and stuff like the previous occupants did.
My point is this- President Bush may not be the brightest bulb to ever hold the presidency (I've admitted as much in a previous thread on here), but he is nowhere near as dumb as most people want to make him out to be. Again, just MY two cents...

Re: George Bush 'chest bumps' an airman

Seems like much ado about nothing to me.

Maybe the President was just enjoying the moment.

I bet the soldiers family that spoke with the President on the phone will never forget the experience.

What ever the politics they actually spoke to the President of the United States of America.

God Bless America.

I know you guys have different opinions on President Bush. Just wanted to say he is a cool and down to earth guy, I met him twice once as Governor and once as President.

Now that was a Honor to meet him.

Re: George Bush 'chest bumps' an airman

as was said, the media LOVES any opportunity it gets to embarrass the president, but yet you never see a side of him that isn't really him. How do you think that one moment in time affected that cadet's life? President Bush could have decided to maintain a more professional image and not give the media a feeding frenzy but instead he decided it was more important to make one cadet's day even more memorable.

Say what you will about him, the man is a man of character.
