Re: George Bush 'chest bumps' an airman

I find it more telling how the Daily Mail writer chose to inject bias by characterizing the event as a "series of bizarre exchanges" by the President.

I like it when President Bush does things like this. He knows he's going to get lambasted by the media, but still does these things. And, the media give themselves a pat on the back for being clever by ridiculing the man. Has the media ever once stopped to think that maybe, just maybe, the joke's on them? Maybe President Bush pulls some of these stunts because he knows how predictable the media's reaction will be, and he's laughing back at them...

Re: George Bush 'chest bumps' an airman

its been a LONG time since we;ve gotten "political" on the forum or had heated debate on contraversial topics (Not that I've missed that....)

Re: George Bush 'chest bumps' an airman

I swear, some of these folks who have the opportunity to appear on stage with the man must take bets to see who can make him look the greatest fool.

I don't think he looked "foolish" in this incident. However.................that dancing/drumming bit he did in Africa a whle back - now looked pretty foolish.

(I really didn't have a problem when he was shown "tap dancing" while waiting for a late McCain at the white house,)

Re: George Bush 'chest bumps' an airman

I can't believe I'm kinda defending Bush here - as I'm not a beer drinker nor did I vote for him either term - but when I say "we" elected him - I meant the country, even if by a slim majority in 2004. (The 2000 election I'm not even getting into.)

I was just thinking this week - its been a LONG time since we;ve gotten "political" on the forum or had heated debate on contraversial topics (Not that I've missed that....)

Yeah, sorry, maybe this is all Bush hamming it up in the spirit of a good show -- like Al Gore he can't help it if he looks like a bit of a dork in the process -- but I've simply had enough of the current regime and can't wait for it to end... end of my political commentary, promise, and apologies to any Bush fans I may have offended. I certainly don't want to be the cause of this turning into a heated political debate, as I've had enough of those, too.

Sorry, I lied -- last one, really really promise.

No, I don't for one second think he's that clever.

Not just politicians, you have the famous phrase "I am from the government and I am here to help", " Yes I will respect you in the morning" (Wonder how many folks that one applies too.). Oh and there was my previous job as a Weather Forcaster,,,, .

Actually, for me, I kind of enjoy it (if we keep it civil). I learn a lot about forum members (or at least I think I do) with discussions like this, which makes everyone a little bit more interesting and human. I don't always agree, of course, but that's just life.
