Aero Detail series.

I was wondering about how many forum members have picked up any of the Aero Detail series. I have six issues and one covering the Zero on the way. These issues provide some great information regarding the aircraft they cover. The initial section breaks down the aircraft into small sections and provides some great closeup detail pictures. These publications also provide all sorts of information regarding various configurations and also points out the differences in different models of an aircraft. Lots of fun reading and some issues have some really nice scale drawings.

Re: Aero Detail series.

Modelers have a great time with these as the pics are a great mix of period and current. I have the He 111 book. It's my opinion that if you love the plane, the applicable Aero Detail needs to be in your library.

The Zero issue is a good choice, I hope it covers the A6M5, 6, 7, and 8, as well as the earlier versions.

Zero issue should be in first part of next week. From your discription, sounds like it has excellent coverage.

Cruves, I'm thinking they may have split the Zero into 2 books--- what do you think? The broke the Spitfire, Fw 190, and Bf 109 into multiple books, and the Zeke is in their stead. Plus it's a Japanese publication so they will cover the Zero in good detail. Did your order specify early or late model Zeros?

I think there is only one issue out on the Zero. I have seen issues for the Ki 43 Oscar, Ki 84 Frank, Kawanishi "George" Shiden-Kai, and the H8K "Emily". That just may be the extent of the Japanese aircraft coverage goes.

So, gentlemen, where might one acquire these publications for a reasonable price?

Site I have come across that seems to have the best selection is www.historicaviation.com. I usually just do a search using Aero Detail to bring up their selection. Looks like they are currently going for 29.95, not to bad considering the content.
