Re: Old Red & White Cover Profile Publications

The ones you have look a little bit more up scale and I have not seen that style before. You definitely have a nice selection too.

Cheers Cruv' - if I could turn the clock back I'd have bought TRIPLE the amount......!

This was around 1981-84 though, on a flying visit to the Mosquito museum.

They contain more info' than many books with FIVE times the print - they're that good.

The Digital-Camera makes 'em look Red, but they definately ARE 'Cerise' in colour, just like yours.

Who is the publisher of your booklets, BTW ????????

It says on mine,
Profile publications,

Here is what it has printed on back:
Profile Publications Ltd., P.O. Box 26 1a North Street Leatherhead, Surrey, England by George Falkner & Sons Ltd., for McCorquodale City Printing Division London. (Quite a mouth full.)

I don't know if they're similar to the one's I'm about to post a (very) rough 'snapped' picture of.... ??????????

They're called "Camouflage & Markings" by Ducimus Books, London. (1970's ?)

The earlier printed ones, ALSO happen to have that 'Red/Cerise' style covers, which is WHY I wondered if they are similar ??????

Thanks Jim & Cruv' for posting the answer - they DON'T appear to be the same (?)

So,

I've scanned a coupla pix from inside two of those on Post No.5

Just to let ya see the detail & info' provided within.......

It's prob' worth trying to track these down too, as they're SO informative !!!!!!!!!!

(As if ya ain't got enough expense at the moment )

I've scanned the 601 Sqdn Airacobra 'markings' page & the Boulton-Paul Defiant (too), to give an example.......

Re: Old Red & White Cover Profile Publications

They look very good, I shall take your advice Hornchurch,

First on the list must be the P40.
Westland Whirlwind would be a good one.

Those are much more detailed. I will have to put those on my list of items to track down.

Re: Old Red & White Cover Profile Publications

CC,

I have many of these bought back when they were first issued. Plus many of the improved group starting with #205. Hard to tell how many because most are filed in my 18 x 1 1/2" binder "scrap book". Yes they are a great reference.

Ron,

Sounds like a nice collection of aircraft reference material you have, and I definitely have to try hunt down some of them.
