Re: Any FlyPast and Aeroplane readers out there?

He was kind enough to sign a Line-Drawing/Image of him in USAAF uniform & his 'Razorback' Mustang (VF*T)........ when asked, "who do you want me to dedicate it to, I felt daft asking it "dedicated" to me, so I said......."erm, make it my Wife, Melanie" (= BIG MISTAKE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Well, I've still got it - BUT, since got divorced (accrimoniously), so I cant get shot of it, but.......it's her name, Urgh.......!!!!!!!!!

Has to be a lesson here, keep the wife's name off anything to do with your hobbies and interests,...... especially credit card receipts in her name for those more valuable pieces.

Valentines Day comin' up. Gotta be gracious to the wifey if you wanna hold on to your dearest collections.

I was in a Target store with a buddy last night. He was compelled to buy some Valentines goodies but when he saw the prices he said,..." ... Oh, I'll go to the Dollar Store".

Really not a good idea, the other half will always relate how much you care by how much you spend.

Hmmm, whatever happened to "It's the thought that counts" cliche? I guess I'm fortunate enough to have me lady who is'nt very particular what she receives as long as I remember her on those occasions. A small token of affection (aweeeeeeeee!) is all she asks of me and I'm quite home free to indulge in my diecasts addiction.

In the past I would pick one up if a particular article interested me but lately I find them to be essential purchases. They cover a great range of topics in particular crew stories and unusual avaiation stories. Worth the money IMHO despite the fact of being expensive in the Irish Eurozone.

When I first began considering anything that flies to read about, I found so much at B&N, I could not get enough: FlyPast, Aeroplane, Flight Journal, Warbirds--a bunch a month, to be sure. I was even buying mags about jets.

Then I settled on FlyPast and had a two-year subscription.

At this point, with my books and new Osprey books, it is all too much.

So I have cancelled my subscriptions. I have to too many back issues to look at yet.

But ONE magazine is a MUST--for a while, until I got focused.

So, which one is a MUST??? Inquiring minds want to know!!
