This Day In History: Interpretation of Dreams Is Published



Dr. Sigmund Freud introduced his authoritative theory on why people dream and the true meaning of these dreams in his book The Interpretation of Dreams. The book introduces Freud's concept of the ego and describes his theory of the unconscious with respect to dream interpretation. According to Freud, dreams are all forms of "wish-fulfillment," or attempts by the unconscious to resolve a conflict of some sort. How many times did Freud revise his book?
