Re: P-47 recovered - From AF News Service

I saw the story late last night while i was looking for info on the doolittle raiders on the AF site.
Good story they had about it.

Thanks for the article. One can hope it will bring some sort of 'closure' to the deceased pilot's surviving family.

Thank you for sharing this very interesting article. Hopefully this will also bring closure to the surviving families members of the missing airmen.

Re: P-47 recovered - From AF News Service

It makes you wonder just how many of these crash sites are still out there waiting to be re-discovered. I did see somewhere (Warbirds forum?) where a TON of German WW II crash sites have been documented by some people in Norway (I think..) with photos that are posted on their site. If I can find it again, will get more info.

Re: P-47 recovered - From AF News Service

First Sgt.
Hey there.

Yeah, the link you are referring to has been posted here on the forum in the past. I did a quick search and couldn't find it, but perhaps someone else will have a better memory than me?

On the Norwegian site there are a ton of photos of wreck sites, mostly it's the usual post wreck detruis but the stories attached are fascinating and it's worth an hour or two of poking around.

Anything for a weird life.
