That is really sad what happened to the pilot of jet number 2.

He was a complete fighter pilot.......Colonel John C. Meyer Deputy Commander of the 352nd.

From what I read Starman there isn't yet confirmation of a mid-air collision, just the eyewitness report. Truely tragic. Last year a Sasol Tigers L29 Delfin went down in Table Bay just off Cape Town. the pilot was also killed. They had just left Ysterplaat AFB where the AAD show was being held. Aren't the Canadians using a more modern jet trainer. That seemed to be implied if only the Snowbirds were using the Tutor.

The Snowbirds team has always been my favorite to watch eversince I first saw them perform along side with the AF Thunderbirds at Travis Air Force base, Fairfield Ca back in the 80's.
My prayers go out to the deceased and his family.
