The SWA 737 that had the landing problem at Chicago's Midway last winter is back in operation.

It has been back on-line for about two weeks now.

New gear, engines, lots of skin, misc. parts, and a new "N" number.
Cheaper than buying a new one.

It wasn't the aircraft's fault. I remember hearing that the runway was really close to being at the operational limit of the A/C.

How true. How true.

The aircraft looked alot better leaving than it did arriving. The maintenance folk did a real nice job on her.

THat is great news. I heard a figure once that said that a 737 took off somewhere in the world like every 15 seconds or something like that.

I would not doubt it one bit. Very popular and reliable aircraft!

The next version (after the NG series) will keep the line going very strong into the future.
The body will be a miniature of the new 787 style.

That is cool. They always say, "When the last Airbus is parked in the desert, the crew will fly home in a 737."

Ha Ha. Probably a very true statement.
I've had the chance to work with both and they each have their plusses and minuses.
The Boeing tends to have a bit more solid "feel" to it than the 'Bus.

You get folks who are Very passionate about their brand aircraft!!!
