Barmy organisers claim the popular RAF display team’s military background “might offend other nations”.

But the security guard at the gate carrying a Glock will be good to go!!!

Post Re: 2012 snub for RAF Red Arrows

As one of the millions of tax payers funding these games I INSIST that the Red Arrows perform at the opening ceremony, their performance would be to do honour to the sportsmen & women of the world & the thousands that will visit the UK for the event.
I am sure that when the games are over & once again GB will look back upon glorious defeat in the sporting arena it will be not because we do not have brilliant sportsmen & women but it would be wrong to have displays of national pride for fear of upsetting our guests & to have the Union flag raised above flags of other nations might give offence

Re: 2012 snub for RAF Red Arrows

Sounds like one of Neville Chamberlain's offspring found their way onto the Olympic Planning Committee.
If you're the host country, don't you have an obligation to let everybody know where the games are? And since a large part of these games is showmanship, what better way to convey that than to have the Red Arrows come in and blow everyone away?

Re: 2012 snub for RAF Red Arrows

There are TWITS in every country. Western nations seem to have an abundance of them. Listen, and listen well. You don't think for me. Someone has complained initally about the Air Show in Toronto, Canada. trivial as it may be. It's a founding complaint to assure further interference to future air displays in years to come. The TWITS of San Francisco are on the same page as other TWITS of the Western Hemisphere. When do the real people ever get to voice their opinion.? The overriding factor in this madness is ourselves. WE MUSN"T LET IT HAPPEN.
