Re: Today they were Honored.....

Well deserved honors, indeed! I'll be adding some more "Red Tail" Mustangs to the collection now...

I hope George Lucas hasn't canned his project for a movie about the Tuskegee Airmen?

Agreed.. Many great Americans have been overlooked and deserve to be honored, especially before they are gone..

Re: Today they were Honored.....

Absolutely stunning news! These courageous airmen truly deserve to be honoured. It's truly a crying shame that a nation such as yours, the land of the brave, home of the free, should take over sixty years to honour these heros. Imagine wanting to serve your country, fighting for all our freedom with no recognition. Maybe they knew what freedom is. Great men, worthy of honour!

I have a the Corgi Tuskegee birds as a tribute to these flyers but am expecting my first GMP, Dutchess Arlene soon. A fitting tribute I trust.

Starman, I certainly understand your point, but in Skunky's defence, he was referring to a potential new movie on them, not the honor of a gold medal they received from the government.

Re: Today they were Honored.....

Thank you,Cappy.....maybe some people don't remember one of George Lucas's early successes, American Graffiti...
Ya just can't say anything these days without someone thinking you're trying to demean somebody...No offense intended to the Tuskegee Airmen or anyone else....
