Re: Is this the end of a proud history of the British Royal Navy?

Take them on, Aircrafty!

Question their interpretation of, probably, fraudulent scripures from 2000 years ago. Expose and ridicule their fundamentalist nonsense and pin them down.

In the glaring light of cross-examination, fundamentalists will always expose themselves. They can't help it. They've been brain-washed into believing the unbelievable or they are ( more likely ) using religion as a political base because they know that the political, moralistic, fudamentalist rightists will support them if they make the correct noises.

Keep religion out of politics and keep politics out of religion!

Religion, sex and politics are three topics that often end up in controversy, so some caution and circumspection is advised. Let's tone it down a notch folks .

MoMo have you ever read the Bible? I mean really read it? Not saying you have to believe it word for word, but I might suggest that such a book may be worth reading, as its been the single most important book in the World for a few millennia.

I'm curious, what shaped your hatred for Christians?

Re: Is this the end of a proud history of the British Royal Navy?

Personally I don't have a problem with people's beliefs except when it impacts on my way of life. For example I have friends that are Christian, Muslim, Jewish, and some are into reincarnation and trendy spiritualism.

All religions are much the same to me as they evolved to help combine people into a cohesive group for common activities and beliefs whilst explaining man made and natural adversity. For example the 'dark ages' and other natural influenced difficult periods such as experienced as recently as 1816 Year Without a Summer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Over the centuries religion has also proved to be a good way to make money and promote wars, these two often go hand in hand.

Re: Is this the end of a proud history of the British Royal Navy?

Dear Mr Football,

I have no hatred for any religious group or peoples.

I just hate organised religion. It is corrupted and abused by people who believe that they inhabit the moral high ground.

Yes, I have read the bible. I have read many bibles. I have been subjected to countless reinterpretations of the bible.

I don't hold with any of it.

Last word, Cardinal. I do believe in God. I don't believe in man being God or speaking for God.

Re: Is this the end of a proud history of the British Royal Navy?

Funny thing religion, so many types and beliefs and everyone thinks theirs is best and the only one. Who is right???? Its best to hold your own beliefs and keep them to yourself and go quietly through life. Another funny thing is why when elected do politicians cease to represent us? We say to each other on the forum that we are crazy addicts to diecast. IMHO we are the sane ones and everyone else is crazy. But then crazy people always say that, dont they?

Actually, the Bible is very well documented. For example, for years folks argued that passages in Isaiah that clearly described the crucifixion of Jesus, supposedly written years before crucifixion was invented, could not have been written manw years prior to the event. Than the dead sea scrolls were found in which these very passages included, and verified their age
